CLOVERLEA LAND BALLOT
FORMER NURSE SUCCESSFUL.
A ballot for sections ill the Cloverlea Settlement, near ftilmorsbon N«th, thrown open for disposal to returned soldiers, was held at tho Municipal Hall, Paimerston North, on Tuesday. T'liero wero 37 applicants, and among those who were successful waa Miss E. ]. f-chaw, of Paimerston. North, who was formerly a sister in tho New.Zealand Army Nuryng Service. As amended during tho recent session of Parliament, the pir.wsions of tho Discharged Soldiers' _Se" lenient Act now extend to former N.Z.E.F. nurses, and Miss Scha/w is the urst w<man in tho Wellington district, and piobably in the Dominion, to obtain li-nd under the Act.
