A meeting of Hie United Christian Association ami prohibition workers was held in the Petone 'Weslcyau Church on Wednesday'evening. There was a jjood attendance, and the Kev. A. Blair presided. During the evening addresses on prohibition were given by the -Mayor of Petons (Mr. J. W. -M'Ewan), the Kev. A. iiiair, and Messrs. Hunter ami Pipe'. An interesting account of the cost of living in Ir'nince is given in the following extract from a. letter written by « woman rrs diner iu that country at tho present time.
