NEW DEMANDS FILED. The demands of the Wellington flistrict section of the Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers, whose dispute with the employers is to be heard before the Conciliation Council in Wellington shortly, have been filed. The monthly schedule of wages asked for is as follows:—Chief or only enginrpr—Under 20 nominal horse-power, .£2O; 20 to under 40 n.h.p., ,£2B; 40 to under 60 n.h.p.. JSSS 10s.; 00 to under 80 n.h.p., .£29: SO to under £Sh, 100 to under 150 n.h.p., X 32. Second ongin-cers-linder 30 n.h.p., .£23; 80 to iwoor !50 n.h.p, £U. Third.oiißineers—Under 100 n.h.p., .£2O; 100 to 150 n.h.p, .£2l 10s. Whenever vessels are engaged on iiuv excursions on Sundays or public holidays, it. is demanded that each onsinetr shall" be paid an extra day's sea pay. After twelve months' continuous service enuiiiGcrs shall he entitled to holidivs on full sea pay, without victualling allowance, as follows:—Chief or solo engineer, 21 days; other engineers, It days.. It is also requestco: that, excent 'during absence, by leave, every encineer shall be elititicd to meal* and proper accommodation up to the ordinary standard, either on his vessel or as may be. otherwise arranged by his einpldver, or elso to receive an allowance as follows :--For victualling and accommodation: Chief or sole engineers, ills, pei day; all other engineers, 10--. per day, or 60s. nor week. For accommodation uluy.: Chief or sole engineers and all. other• enuineers. 4s. per flay. For victualling onlv: Chief or sole engineers and all other cnuineers, 7s. 6d. pur day. When enzineers- arc rerooven to suit tho conditions of the special trade in which their stcuners are engaged, free transit shall be "provided for their families and effects. •The- award, it is desired, shall operate as from Julv 1, 1019. to December 31, 1921.
