COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
On Thursday the Competitions Society will commence their second annual festival at the Town Hall. Entries have been received from Whangarci to Dunedin, and represent the leading amateurs of the Dominion, who will be heard in music, song, and story. In issuing this jear's syllabus the committee 'introduced a number of new classes, including worlrs by New Zealand authors and composers, also Burns songs. The large e-rtries in these classes have fully justified their inclusion. Another attractive section will be the national dancing, for which some 2fifl entries have lieen received, including several well-known champions, while the fancy dancing, one of the. most graceful items of th? competitions, w'd be given by clever exponents of the art. .Arrangements have been made for ticket-holder'- and ptbers to book their seats at the P-'-istol Piano Co. for tho first twelve nights.
