* NOTES FROM VARIOUS CENTRES (From Our Special Corrospondentsj WAMAPA Mr. John Boustead, of Alfredton, lias sold his property of 803 acres to Mr. K. J. Didsbury. of I'almerston North. Lieutenant il. \V. Pavitt,_ of Mnsterlon, who served with the New Zealand Engineers, has been mentioned in the final dispatches of Sir Douglas H al S--During the month nf October rain fell in Maslerlon on eight days, as compared with twenty-ono days during the same month last year. The quantity of vain registered last month was I.SS inches, and in October of last year 1.9 inches. It is expected that (here will bo a record gathering of Wairnrapa returned soldiers at the social to bo held m the Anzac Club, Featherston, to-morrow night. A leading Wellington orchcstni, thanks to the generosity of Mr. \\. E. Bidwill, chairman of tlio Anzac Club, .has been engaged for tho occasion. Invitations are not being issued except through the medium of the Press. The children of Featherston and district were entertained at a fancy dress I hall, organised by the Fire Brigade, on Friday night.
