AN EASY VICTORY FOR NORTH

Thorndon then coinmenoed their second innings, and before Jive o'clock thoy wero all out for S9, Tuckwell and Pai.nct: playing sad havoc among them. Stump 3 wero then drawn, leaving North victors by on innings and 156 runs. Tho Petone-East gitrao was concluded on tho local oval on Saturday. Ihe afternoon was dull and tho wicket leu a lot to be desired. East- continued thoir first innings, Bakor aud Hutchings, tho not out men, taking tho orcase. Sniyrk opened, and after tho first over tho telegraph registered 20. Baker in running a singlo was almost run out by the quick fielding of Gedye. Hutchings and Baker, the latter playing steady orioket, mado a stand, and tho 'partnership stood at 75 when" it was broken by Sniyrk, Hutchings being oaught by I'mlayison. Schrader joined Baker and rather slow scoring followed. Later Bakor, whoso score - stood -it 48, was clean bowled by Finlayson. Double figures wero reached by, Patrick, Fenton and Wilson, and tho innings closed with 1-19 runs. Potono just missed a "followon," tho lead boing G2 runs. Fairly quick scoring was the order in Petoilrs second innings. At tho call of time Petone h.vl lost three wickets for 99 runs, Gedye (20) and Finlayson (19) being the not out :nen. Playing at Hutt tho local team were successful in securing a three-point win from Old Boys. -Hutt went in and completed their first innings. D. Naughton, who was playing a great game, was caught out when his score stood at 85. There was nothing of noto during Old Boys' second innings, the last wicket falling when 93 run's, had been, compiled. Hutt went in requiring 58 runs to gain a three-point win. . In the second innings Centinl Mission lost six wickets for 100 runs, and then declared their innings closed. St. Thomas's second innings realised s« runs for three wickets (Fnbcr -0 not out, Lawrence 11 not out). Boys' League, In the Senior Boys' League, St. Thomas made 128 for seven wickets (Rogers 60, Miller 20). Central Mission mado 15 antl 69 (Brookes 18 not out). St. Thomas won by an innings and 42 Tuns.
