Saturday nigliti saw good business done | at the Catholic bazaar at tire Town Hall. The crowd was largo and busing good. The Watersiders' Hand provided fcho evening's music. Tho tug-u'-war provided the. onlookers with two good contests, both in o!ie heavy-weight division. The first to appear on the platform were Petono and Herlihy's team, both good combinations. This )>ull was very even during tho first few minutes, and groat, enthusiasm reigned among the spectators. At three minutes l'etono had an advantago of one inch, which Horlihy's tiried hard to win baric. Petono, however, held well together, and, amidst cheers and countercheors. came in tho winners by an inch and a half. In fcho othsr contest. MutitCottrell's team gained th? victory over Glceson's by one and a half inches. ' To-night will witness tho light-weight final, when Petono will meet Quirk's team. Both tlie.so teams ihavo won all their matches, and it is expected that they will provide the best contest of the scries.
