NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING Mr. A. G. Henderson presided over the annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, which was held last week. The annual report and bal-ance-sheet, which were adopted, disclosed a cash surplus of jMI-1 12s. (id. Opportunity was taken by Ihe chairman to point out that the activities of j the association had perforce been moribund for the past two years. It was now intended to talro up the work on an active basis, and the Christmas championship meeting was likely to provide a, great deal of interest. A series of resolutions passed by the Lawn Tennis Association, London, ami the Australasian Association were adopted in tolo. Action taken by tlie Management Committee in deciding that "Ayros" ball be used at the New Zealand chammonship meeting, lPlf), to he held 011 Win Wellington College grounds during Christmas and New Year next, was approved. Mr. Henderson moved, "That it be established as a principle that, if at: any time a secondary school or college applies for financial assistance towards a school or college tennis tournament such application receivo the favourable consideration of the association." Mr. Keesing moved that as an amendment the words "a secondary school or college" he deleted and tlie words "provincial lawn tennis association" substituted. Mr. Henderson agreed to accept the amendment as an alteration to liis motion, and in this form the motion was put and declared, carried. Tho Marlborough Association made ap. plication for the New Zealand championship meeting, 1020, lo bo hold/ at Blenheim. The request was referred to tlio Management Committee for consideration and later attention. Mr. Melody gave preliminary notice that the Wanganui Association desired to hold its annual tournament 011 New Year's Day next and following dates. After discussion it was decided that the Management. Committee consider the advisability of sending a team to Australia after the conclusion of the New Zealand championship meeting. Jt was resolved that the Management Committee take into favourable consideration the application of the Wilding Memorial Fund for an amount towards procuring a suitable interprovincial perpetual challenge shield and cutis for junior championships held by the New Zealand Association.
