. The.annual meeting of the Scottish Society and tho Pipe Band of Wellington was held in the Scottish' Hall, Tory Street, on Friday evening. Mr. W. Jlallanfcno was in the chair, Tlie report stated that the. membership had slightly iscrcascd during tho past year. Although many social gatherings had been held, there was still room for further action in this direction. • The choir established under .Mr. Nelson showed every prospect of success in its work. The services- of the Pipe Baud had been utilised on many occasions for various functions. The society had held a. public meeting to consider (he ([ncstlon of uniting the Scottish bodies in "Wellington. The representatives of the Caledonian Society had up to the present decided oil preserving their individuality, but there wcro strong, reasons to believe that many members of both societies favoured" vmalganiat/in.
