SOME OF THE CLAUSES
The 'Washing-Tip Bill for this session wils circulated on Saturday 'evening. It appears to be quite a simple set of clauses' dealimr with lands and funds of local authorities. Following are some of the clauses:— Hawke's Bay. The Kohi Bush ltescrve is declared to be a uublic domain. A small cemetery reservation in tho town of Clive, from which the bodies interred have been removed, is the subioct of another clause. Tho reservation for cemetery has been lifted, and the area is declared to be Crown land, available for disposal. The Hawke's Bay County. Council and j lie Wairoa County Council are authorised to purchase the telephone lino between Mohaka and Tongoio. Laud in tho Tu Puiit township reserved for library purposes is declared to be a hot springs reserve. Tho Hastings Borough Council, the Hawke's Bav County Council, ana' 1 tho Ifavfikick Town Board are authorised to unite for the purpose of raising a joint special loan, not exceeding for the acouisition of land in Hastings as a site for a technical school. The Waiuawa Borough Council ig empowered to appropriate land for the widening of Bibby Street, Waipawa-. The land was formerly used as a pound site. The reservation for the purposes of a, mechanics' institute over certain land in the township of Buckley is cancelled. Taranaki. The lease to the Waimate West County Council for the purposes of model daily farms of lano' held by the Crown for an exnerimenlal dairy school, is validated. The laud is described as section 32, Block 111, Waimatc survey district. The reservation over certain endowment in Eltham for the purposes of primarv education is to be vested in the Eltbnni borough, to be used for approved public purposes at the pleasure of the Minister of Education. Tho lease of the li-cwarewa rifle range, New Plymouth, to the Taranaki Agricultural Society is authorised. Lund held' since IS7G by the Crown as o prison site, bounded by Breakwater Koad. is released from this reservation, in order tlint it may be used for workers' homes, school site, and domain purposes. Otaki. ]
• Approval is given of the sale of ccvinin land in Otaki hold as a police station to the borough. The' Crown is authorised to acquire the land on Kapiti Island still held by Native owners. Wanganui. Portion of Queen's Park, Wanganui, is bein? vc.slwr in the. Wanganui Education Board as a site for a school. Palmorston The Government is empowered lo take certain lands at Palmerston for the purDoses of a show ground, and to sell the land to the A. and P. Association. Provision is made for an exchange of land between the Education .Board and Hip boroush for the purpose of allowing the Education Board to uso one portion of tho land for the purposes of a girls' high school, teachers' resio'ences, and other school purposes. Napier. • The Borough Council of Napier is authorised to clone Fanlknor Street, and to transfer Hie land to the Education Board without payment, as a site for a technical school. Pahiatua. The Pahiatua County Council and Ihe Pahiatua Horough Council are permitted to levy rnles within their territories to Supply tlm Carnival Pari; Domain Board with funds. Wellington.
