GARRISON ARTILLERY
NO. 9 COMI'.AN.V REUNION. A reunion of past and present members of No. 9 Company, New Zealand Garrison Artillery, was held'in Dustin's moms, Cuba (street, on Saturday night. There was a gathering of about 130, including a number of members who have returned from service in the late war. i Captain V. Haughton, officer commanding the company, presided, other officers present being Captain Inkster, Lieu- ! tenants G. Abel, L. W. Tomlin, and G. B. Parkinson, R.N.Z.A., adjutant Wellington Garrison Artillery JJivision. Apologies for absence were received from several officers, including Colonels 31. Gardner, Director of Artillery; tl. P. C. Campbell, Coast Defence Commander; .1. T. Standish, Artillery Staff officer; 3!ajor I). K. .Monzie.s, commanding officer of the Division: and .Major Hollis. '* Several toasts were'honoured during the coins?, of Lhe evening, and a very pleasant programme of songs and. recitations was contributed to by Lieu I. Tomlin, Messrs. Jlonlaguo Gillmore, J. Larsen, V. Oswin, ami A. Saunders. Messrs. 31. Dixon and Hendry acted as accompanists. Responding to the toast of "Returned Members," proposed by Captain Inkster, Lieutenant A bid threw out an invitation to those former members of the company who had been to the front to ally themselves with the company again. There, was plenty of loom for them all, he said, and their experiences in the Into war would undoubtedly prove of value to the younger members of the company ■who had had no opportunity of going to Oie front.
