COST OF LORD JELLICOE'S TOUR
QUESTION IN HOUSE OP COMMONS. (Rec. November 1, 1.5 a.m.) London, October 29. In the Houso of Commons, Sir. Kenworthy asked the cost of Lord Jellicoe's tour, "and whether a battle-cruiser was necessary. Mr. Long (First Lord of the Admiralty) said that tho New Zealand's tour cost: .£89,225 more than if she remained in Home waters in full commission. It was absolutely of tho first importance that the Government's representative, who was trying to lav tho foundation of a real Imperial Navy, should make the tour in such a vessel.—Aus.N.Z.
