Tlio Sinn Feiners wore allowed privileges, including the wearing of civilian clothes ami taking their meals apart from the other prisoners. They were also allowed to seo visitors. One Sinn Feiner, during tea, sprang on the back of the only warder, and the rest gagged, handcuffed, ami throw the warder into a cell. The attack was so well planned, and so quietly, carried out, that no alarm was. given. A. rope. ladder with steel hooks was then slung over the top of the. prison wall. The Sinn Foinors climbed up and found a telescopic ladder in position, ami friends waiting below. Tho Sinn Fcinera slipped down and escaped, in motor-cars. A woman outside the gaol gave the alarm, hut it was too late. Beasley ami Stack had tan in similar escapades. Beasley escaped from Mountjoy Prison with nineteen others, and Stack partook in a hunger strike-—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
