Later a march took plnce to the Tower grounds two bands and the tiro brigade (of irhtali Lieutenant Grant wns a member) taking part. The proceedings throughout w« merited by enthusiasm, and after planting the tree Lieutenant Grant was escorted home by the promssum.

The interment is to be made in ths Sydney Street Ceinetnry todav.
Mr P Bennett, who lias been organist and choirmaster of Knox Pvesbyicrian Church Parnell. for over 2t years, anil has retired, acted in 'his official capacity at the church for tho lust time on Sunday Deference to Mr. Benuetts devoted work was made by tho I!«v.
