He pointed out that in recent years the cost of manures had- 60 greatly increased as to tpduce tho amount that it was possible for farmers to put; on their lands. He wished the Minister to take this matter Into consideration before next season. Mr. Mnssey said that he- had always held'that fertilisers should be carried at the lowest rate. He would like to reduce the rate, but the expense qf ruvnjng the railways was increasing all th? time, and this_ made it difficult for any Minister of Railways to reduce revenue.
