£4,000,000 OIL COMBINE
SHARES OF FIVE SCOTTISH COMPANIES' ACQUIRED. Among now Scottish, joint stock companies registered is Scottish Oils, Limited, with a capital of ,£-1,000,000, in ,C 1 shares. The company has been promoted to acquire the ordinary shares of the l.'mnpherslon Oil Co., the Broxburn Oil Co., the Oakbauk Oil Co., Young's Paraffin Light and Mineral Co., and James Ross and Co., Philpstoum Oil Works, and to acquire the goodwill, so far as these relato to Scotland, of the British Petroleum Co. and the Homcligiit Oil Co., as well as certain of the assets in Scotland of these two companies. It is also to undertake all or any liabilities in connection with tho businesses in Scotland, and to carry on business in connection with petroleum and other mineral oils. Tho combination has been omanis-ed by tho great Anglo-Persian Oil Company. Tho amalgamation should load, to economy and efficiency in working, especially as it is proposed that the Anglo-Persian Company shall supply crude oil to supplement the Scottish shale oil, so as to keep tho Scottish refineries fully employed. The Anglo-Persian Oil Companv is tho important undertaking controlled in a very special way by the British Government since early in 1914.
