The Stale Dejiartmciit has scut a Note to Mexico. demanding Hint the Government shall briii;; about the immediate release of the United States Consular officer. Mr. Jenkins, who was captured l>v bandits, and held for 150,000 dollars ransom. The Stato Department points out: to Mexico that she must pay the ransom if necessary.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
