The United Slates Cabinet has issued a statement that fifteen representative Americans, not d'vided into groups, will be called together to map cut a plan to bring about a co-operation of Labour and Capital, and to submit their recommendations to the Government—Ana,N.Z. Cable Assn. STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT "WILSON. (Eec. October 'J9, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, October 26. President Wilson, in a statement, says: "I solemnly request the mine workers ! to recall any orders to strike. I feel it my public duty to declare that any attempt to carry out mil-poses .by means of a strike must be considered a grave moral and legal wrong. The New York "Times'' correspondent at Washington states that the officials of the American federation <:f Labour have asserted that the enactment by Congress of the anti-strike provision pending the Railroad Bill might result in an immediate general "walk out-" in defence of organised Labour's right to strike.—Aus.-N.7i.
