MIDDLE CLASSES OBLIGED TO ORGANISE. (Rec. October 28, 10.15 p.U.i.) London, October 20. Lord Burnham, presiding at a congress of salaried workers, represeutinj numerous associations, declared that the middle classes were the greatest sufferers by the social and industrial upheaval resulting from the war. The congress carried a resolution urging the organisation of the professional classes to obtain a satisfactory standard of life, better housing, the abolition of profiteering, reduction in travelling fares, and also resolved to protest against tho unjust incidence of tho income tax.—Aus.-N.Z.
