GERMANS ASK TO GIVE EVIDENCE. (R«c. October 28, 9.10 p.m.) London, Oclolier 26. The "Berliner Tageblatt" says that several German .statesmen ask to be heard at the Caillaux trial, otherwise tliey will publish a manifesto declaring that he is innocent, adding that a fewweeks after the opening of war they made Caillaux a peace offer advantageous to France.—Aus.-N.Z.
