THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for moderate to Btrong easterly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and variable breezes elsewhere, with northerlies to westerlies prevailing. Weather fair, but haze anil cloudiness increasing generally, and rain probable shortly in the West Coast and southernmost districts of the .South Island and the northern portion of the North. The barometer has a falling tendency. The weather has been . fair generally, though cloudy skies have prevailed at times.
