RIFLE SHOOTING
On Monday the Ifarori Defenco Riflo Club sent a team to Parnparau.'nu to fire a match against the Wharcroaßiflc Club. The metronolitan (earn were liiet at the station and driven out to the rango by Iho Whareroa team, when the match was commenced at 500 yards, ten shots, During the day the visitors wcra cutertainrd at. luncheon. Owim: to' Ihn late start and there being onlv ono target, the match was dceided at the one range. The Karori Club had the advantage by 10 points, with Mmn. 1\ Chin? in the lead for Karon and Rflmn. S. Batten lopping Whareroa. The teams found the range rather tricky, and great credit is dun to the country team in making such a, close finish, as they had not been shooting regularly since tile outbreak of war. After th.n match .Deputy-President Coi'dnte did'the usual conrlesics, to which Secretary E. Daniel, win captained the visitors', suitably 'rcsnonded.
