WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association was held on Friday night. The annual rejiort, which was adopted, stated that tho matter of grounds had become pressing, and the committee had entered into negotiations with tho Citv Council to endeavour to secure a lease ot' a. portion of tho city reserves. During - the war - period tho various provincial championships had been in abeyance, out they would bo revived this year. The annual tournament of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association is to be held in Wellington durihs; tho coming season, and arrangements have been inado for the use of a portion of 'the Wellington College wounds for the purpose. Tho conimitIce has been in touch with the New Zealand Association on the matter, and has arranged to lrold its annual champion-s-hip and handicap tonrnnment at tho conclusion of the New Zealand meeting. This should be made a great success, and .should give groat impetus to the game in this province. The association had a succcssiul year. Tho levy fund account had increased from J314 13s. Gd. to .SSfi'.l 9s. 3d., but if negotiations for the obtaining of a ground for tho'association wero succcssiul, this fund would rcauire to be considerably augmented in the near future to meet the necessary expenditure in connection with the grounds.
