AIR RACE TO AUSTRALIA
MATTHEWS ARRIVES AT COLOGNE. (Kcc. October 26, 5.5 p.m.) London. October 24. The Air Ministry announces that Captain Matthews arrived at Cologne nt 2 o'clock on Wednesday. Tlie Ministry does not know whether he will be. allowed to proceed in defiance of the international convention forbidding flights across Germany.—United Service. NAVAL PATROL TO BE PROVIDED. Melbourne, October 25. In the House of Representatives Sir Joseph Coolc stated that besides the arrangements on land for assistance to tho competitors in the Englaiid-to-Australia flight, the Navy will provide a patrol between Kopang and Darwin.—Press Assn.
