Rienzi and Dick ran seven furlongs on the same track in lmin. 3tsec., and similar timo was made by Egniont Park and Bingham. Vnlo was trotted and cantered. Royal Exchange, on the gTass, ran five furlongs in lmin. 4sec. MatatUa ran half ft hiilo in Msec, on the tan, and Esperanee took a sccoha' longer Over tho satuo course. On the grass, Kyoto • was going better than Idle Talk over five furlongs, the last four taking 52sec. J. I.Owo 6cnf. the two-year-olds Shamrock, Wake, and.Cycle half a mile on tho Oin. The ■ trio finished together in tHsec. Active and, Idleness tan five furlongs on.the grass in lmin. ssec. The former was going very comfortably at the finish. 80-Pefp and Philomela finished over five furlongs oa the tan. ■ 'i'ha time was lmin. 3sec. Tho two-year-old Halifax was seen to advantage in a half-mile spin with Mattv. Tho distaiico Was covered ih Blscc. The Chokebore two-year-old Moorfdwl r»ii down the course proper at ft strong pace. Mascot, Mntuihi, Hurry Up, ana' Wnrpiano were sent over seven furlongs on the tan. The Riddiford three-year-old cleared out from the 'field, and coveted tho distance in lmin. 28sec, which, was tho best gallop of tho lnofjiing. Warplane, who \yas heavily bandaged in front, pulled up very lame, and is a doubtful runner at the meeting. Hindi, looking bright and well, ran EBven furlongs on the grass in lmin. S2sec. and was then trotted a couple of rounds on tho tan. All Cerise and Black Hark finished together over- half a .mile on tho grass in sHsec. Battle Song and Risingkam worked together on tho tan. The two-year-olds Cantabile, Gate Pah, Pure Laziness, and Phio, ran down the four furlongs on the course proper. The two fii'stiiaiiied finished together in. 511sco. Gloaming. Afterglow, Kai'O/ and Rossini were given steady work on the tan. Waiinatao was given strong work, but was not allowed' to gallop. Saima. on the outside, seemed to bo going better than Ermine at the end of half a mile on the tan. The distance was covered in 51isec.' •' • Affectation, Nobleman, Vagabond, and Hetaua were sent m company over seven furlongs... The firsthamed' bent Noble' man in lmin. 20sec, with the other pair beaten off. , Hetaua'is a bad worker, and is rarely seen to advantage on tho tracks. Fortune Teller and Kii.dee ran down the straight, finishing together, Maioha heat Dribble over five furlongs, the last half-mile taking- 50sec. ■ Rose Wreath and Kipling *went five furlongs. The former got an advantage at the start, arid maintained it. Ennea ran three furlongs on the grass. Humbug gave ListpWel, Tropical, and Gasbag a decisive beating over four furlongs in 51sec. Deeloy will ride some of ithem. It was intended to send Sasnnof back to Auckland by the MoeTaki, but Space could not be secured for hitn, and he was left behind at Ritndwiok till a later boat. If there is one owner of horses iuoro than another in New South Wales who is entitled lo bo styled lucky f it is Mr, D. U. Seaf.on, whose Wolaroi won the Epsom Handicap recently. Any owner who succeeds in. making racing pay out of slakes must bo aocolinted extremely fortunate and this Mr. Seaton has done.
During the Inst ten years his horses have won about .£47,000 in prize money alone, and. irrespective of some largo amounts taken from the ring, that ought to show a very substantial profit. During tho period stated tho owner of Wolaroi has never had a, really bad season. Wolaroi's earnings in stakes run to ncarlv ,£20,000, ftnri another good winner is Yi'estcou rt, which appropriated races of the Value of .£11,852. the second place in the A.J.C. Breeders' Plate, filled by Duncciin, was worth .iOOsovs. to Messrs. Thorpe and Gleeson. Diinedin. which arrived in Auckland on SundaV by the Moernki, was out doing light exorcise at Ellerslio on Tuesday morning. He ii a big upstanding colt, but. was not seen at his best, for a rough trih over left him a little sore. It is nothing serious, however, and a few davs' steady pacing should see him all right again. Dunedin is engaged in the A.R.G. Welcome Stakes, Great Northern Foal Stakes, aim Royal Stakes, and may be sent back to Australia in the autumn to contest tho A.J.C. Sires' Produce Stakes.
