H. van Staveren, Rev. Dr. Elliott, Mesdaroes Snow, Beck, Aitken, and M'Vicar were present at the monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board held yesterday. Accounts to. the following amounts were passed for payment:—Wellington Hospital. J:fis7C 13s. 9d.; charitable aid and Ohiro Home, X 2275 14s.- 5d.; head office and public health,' .£264 Cs (id. The bank balance stood as follow:— Fund account, ,01411 17s. 3d.; No. 1 Loan, bEnU 17s. 3d.; No. 2 Loan, .£2128 7s. 4u. The Finance and Property Committee reported:— That, an invitation has been receneu for the members of the board to attend at. the memorial service for muses to be held at St. Peter's Church, Willis Street, at 3.30 p.m., on Sunday next. ~ That a prolectograph cheque writer be purchased. y That Nurse M. Ongley took up her duties as district nurse at Puraparaitniu on October 13. That Chiton Torrace Home for Chronic Invalids (males) be closed as early as possible, and the inmates be transferred back to Victoria Hospital. • That members of friendly societies be charged 30s. per week for maintenance provided a guarantee is received for payment, from their respective lodges. Thnt. Messrs. Bethtine and Co. have advised the board that they have disposed of property Lot 4 Onslow Terrace to Mr. 11. M. Giriing-ISutcher. That, the return of receipts ana expenditure compared with the estimates for half-year ended September 30, 1919, l«! received. That the following adjustments to wages paid to the laundry employees be adopted:—Head laundress, ,£l9O (.£lB4 125.) per annum; lnundryman, JI3 10s. (.C!) (is.) per week; senior laundress, &% 10s. (£2 Is.) per' week; ironors and laun'dyesses are to bo paid nn additional fls. per week each, and the three junior laundresses ss. per week each. The recommendations were approved by tho board.
