The, evidenco for tho proseoution showed that on tho dato of the alleged offcnco a man named M'Kinnon handed in at the Middlemarch Post Officii a withdrawal receipt for -£103. The accused asked him for .£l, and thon handed back ' what Al'Kinuon believed to be ,£llO. M'Kintion took this money to n neighbouring farm owned by a man named Robertson, who accepted it in settlement of an account for .£IOB, and gave M'Kinnon «C 2 changg. The money was put in an envelope, mid the prosecution alleged that Ivobertson's daughter later discovered it oontniried a ten shillings note instead of it ,610 note. Tho defence was reserved, v\nd the acouted was committed for i.riai at tho Supreme Court. Bail was allowed, self in .£IOO and two sureties of J!SO each.
