THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications arc for moderate to strong south-west winds, veering to north-westerlies and increasing again soon southward of New Plymouth and Castlcpoint. Weather changeable generally squally in parts, with rain following, especially in districts with a westerly aspect. Barometer unsteady, but falling soon in the couth. A disturbance in the south accounted for strong and mmally north-west winds 011 Saturday and Sunday, particularly 111 and southward of Cook Htrnil, with rain in the West Count and southernmost districts of the South Island. The winds changed to south-west during Sunday m.s;ht, and showH's lvero reported this morning in many parts, but conditions have since improved ceuerally. B. V. P.BMBKKTOK.
