HARRY DEARTH CONCERTS
It is some time since a concert celebrity has visited Wellington, consequently the visit of the English baritone, Jlr. Harry Dearth, will be looked forward t:o with very much interest. Messrs. J. and N. 'I'nit announce that owing to tho large hall being otherwise engaged, the first three concerts will he given in the Town Hull Concert Chamber, viz., on Wednesday, Thursday, ■ and Friday evenings, and on 'Saturday night at the Grand Opera House. Mr. .Dearth's selections for to-morrow night's concert will include Federc Cowcn's great number, "Onaway. Awiike," "The Ceniiv.iiiy Sergeant-Major" (Sanderson). "The Blind Ploughman" (CMarkel, "Old Ba.rty" (Grant.), and other items. Jin Dearth is being sunported by Miss Carlien Jurs, (pianist), Jladame Power (contralto), and Mr. Hnrold Beck ('cellist). The box p'ans are now on vi->w at the Bristol Piano Company.
While camping a.t High Spen, Co. Durham, a Jarrow Hoy Scout named Thompson ilrsctindiMl .1 disused pit shaft, 70ft. deop. and rescued another boy, \rlio had fallen in and become unconscious in the. water at the bottom.
