RINKING CARNIVAL AT LOWER HUTT
A liighly-enjoyable skating carnival was held. at Lower Ilutt oil Saturday night last. All the events''were keenly contested, Especially events for couples. A number of comic characters kept the fun going between the more serious events. Winners of events were as follow:—Lady's costume, Miss Shiel; men's costume, Mr."O'Connor; best poster, Miss Pilcher: comical character, Mr. Abbottj boys' race, Muster Gawkrodger; couples' race. Miss Lavrenco aud Mr. Bowers; graceful couple, Miss GTeahill and Mr. Traill; egg and spoon, Miss Bel Patton; waltzing, Mies Gledhill and Mr. Traill; two-stepping, Miss Gledhill and Miss Artlmr. . 1
