The gooil lots met with a fairly ready sale, but with tho poorer classes, especially yonng cattle, bidding was slow_ and tho lots offered wero harder to quit. Tho prices secured were in most cases very good. Especially notieeablo was the demand for Jersey stock, and some rather fancy prices were paid for empty Jersey heifers, some lots of 12 to 18 months reaching as much as ,£8 to ;29. There ivas a large attendance at the fair, including a considerable number of outside buyers. As tho purchasers wero all genuino buyers, a very good idea was given of tho value of stock at the present time. On tho whole the fair was a distinct success.
