MASTEIiTON CA NDIDATKS. (from Our Own Correspondent.) ' Masterton, October 18. Mr. G. R. Sykcs, At.P., who is at present attached to the Reform Party, has announced that ho will contest the forthcoming election as an Independent candidate. 'J'he announcement by Mr. Sykcs that ho will contest the Masterton seat in Independent interests makes a total of fivd candidates who have declared themselves. The other candidates are: Mr. W. B. Matheson, Eketahmia, Independent: Mr. A. C. Holms, Keatherston, Ijibrtu r Democrat; II r. Charles Crces, Ekctahuna, Independent Labour; and Mr. W. Canny, Masterton, Lalwur Party. .Mr. .1. M. Conidine, ex-Mayor of Masterton. is mentioned as a likely candidate, and should ho come out it is improbable I lull he will attach himself to any parly.
