THORNDON METHODIST CIRCUIT
The quarterly meeting of the Thorndon MVhodist Church was held this week, when the Hev. A. Header presided over a representative gathering from each area of the circuit. A welcome was extended to flie Kev. E. E. Warbuvton, who Ims returned after serving three years as Y.M.C.A. fecretary with the Forces oversells. Hp is to work in the Karori-NorUi-land portion of the circuit. Membership returns were satisfactory, and the. financial statement showed a credit 011 the quarter's work of ,£23 3s. 7d., mincing the deficit to X 2 4s. td. The sum of ,C 53 lfe. sd, was forwarded to foreign, niissions, and over c£2t for home missions. Arrangements wpre made, for. holding tho Sunday School anniversary services at Molcsworth Street on the first Sunday in December, and .Karori on tho second Sunday. Tho Hew Val. Trigge's services have been secured for special mission services next year. Messrs. J. Laureilson, A. Swift, and E. B. Ash were appointed representatives to the Methodist Council in Wellington, and Messrs. Mourant olid Clark to the Distr:ct Synod. Collections on behalf of the Nortli Island Oirpluulngo were authorised to bo taken at tho ser. Vices on Christmas Bay. Tho matter of a successor lo the Kev. A„ Header as superintendent minister was left in the bonds of circuit stewards. Lpttera of condolence in consequence of recent l)e----iwement wwo authorised to bo sent to Mrs. J. B. Jones, Hev. James Boyd, and Mrs. C. Robinson. AH members'of the, fl'reuit: were urged to aid and support flirt Prohibition campaign to the utmost oi' their powers.
