The following recommendations «f the Reserves Committee were adopted:--"That authority l)e (granted for drainage and water works to be carried out at the Cro<|iiet Club, Main Street, at an estimated cost of .610(1; Hint the. request of the lvel-biini Ratepayers' Association for the services of the Director of Reserves to adviso with reference to tree-planting, etc., bo acceded to; that the request of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association for lease of portion of tho Kilbii-nie Recreation Crouml for tennis courts bo not accedcd to; that.the rental for the bathing eheds at Day's Bay be as follows to date from 1917: Moveable sheds, 10s. 6d.; fixed sheds, Jit Is.; tliat having considered the question of the removal of the Thorndon Hatha and being strongly of 'opinion that tepid baths should be erected in a position easy of access to all parts of the city, the City Engineer be asked to furnish a report as to suitable sites in the city. for the erection of such baths, together with estimated cost; that tho Director of Parks and Eescrves, taking advantage of the spoil from the excavation at Victoria College, hns made a start, with the formation of croquet courts at Kelburn l'ark, and he anticipates that the courts will be ready for next season; that no dwelling should be erected 011 Island Bny Best Parlr as proposed; that more accommodation should be' provided 011 tho Lyall Bay beach, fhe City Engineer is being asked to furnish a report as to what aeeorumodation should be provided with a view to adequate provision being made in tho proposed lonn schedule."
