The Wellington . Education Board yesterday received a letter from the School Committees' Association sußgcstins that all school holidays should take place at the same time. Jtr. T. Forsyth (chairman of tliß board) said that a conference of primary, eecondary and technical school interests would be hold shortly at which the matter would be discussed. The Educational Institute and the Headmasters' Association, an well as the University, would be represented at tho conference, and it wan thonght that without any groat change it would be possible to make all tho holidayl, coterminous. Mr. E. H. Penney snid that hi honed no arbitrary arrangement would be decided upon, as in the Marlborough ward it would not be possible to take all the holidays together. Mr. Forsyth replied that provision would be suggested for outlying dislricls making arrangements to suit their convenience.

The Technological Section of the Wellington Philosophical' Society held its mijiihl mealing: Inst evening. Mr. S. H. Jenkinson presided. The following officer* were elected:—Chairman, Mr. AV. H. La Trobe; vice-chairman. Dr. MacLiuirin. Mr. L. Dirks (Chief Electrical Engineer of the Public Works Department) delivered a lecture upon "The Mathematical Basis of Hydro-Electric Power Rates," and performed experiments illustrative of tho effects of low power factor on a hydro-electric station. A short discussion followed.
