CHECKING EXPLOITATION
THE BOAKD OF TRADE BILL. A suggestion that tho Government should'giro facilities for interested parties to give evidence regarding the Board of Trade Bill was made in tho House of Kepresentativjs yesterday by tho Hon, A. If. Myors (Auckland East), who stated that somo persons wero anxious to make representations regarding certain, provisions of the Bill.' The Prime Minister said this seemed to ho impossible. The Bill,'.had been, passed by both Houses. Some amendments that bad been mado by tho Legislative Council were now awaiting tno consideration of the House. He had held the Bill back in order to allow time for certain correspondence to reach him. He thought that one of tho amendments made by the Council was a mistake, and ho probably would ask tho House to disagree with it. Mr. Myers said tho Bill was a paw ficularly important one, and its smooth! working was most desirable. Would tha Prime Minister consent to receive by telegram .any objections that might be urged, with a view to having them considered in tho Legislative Council? Tho Bill could be recommitted there. If thero were serious objections 'to any clause it would be in tho interests of tha Bill that they should be considered, Mr. Massey replied that he bad receive ed a number of objections,,nearly all of them Telnting to a provision 'that had been inserted by the Council. Ho was allowing as much time as jwssible, without endangering tho Bill. When all tho objections hnd reached him ho would make up his mind what to do. It mu*ht be necossarv to bring down a Governor's Message with some further amendments that ought to bo made in the Bill,
