IMMERSED PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER
CASE REFERRED TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY. / Uy Telccraph—Press Association. Auckland, October 14. The Auckland Presbytery decided tonight to refer tho much-discussed case of the Rev. A. A. Murray, in regard to ihis recent baptism by immersion by a Baptist minister, to the General Assembly for judgment, on the grounds that iu such a case of difficulty the as. sembly, and not tho presbytery, should decide. It was further "decided that owing to tho feeling in regnrd to Mr. Murray, both in Oho presbytery and in the community, a change of venue was desirable. A conference was recently held between the Presbytery Committee'and Mr. Murray, as a result of which the committee reported that from now on Mr. Murray could not see : his way to baptise infants, but would not put any obstacle in the way of those who wished baptism for their infants, and was prepared to arrange with a brother minister to officiate. Mr. Murray wished to have liberty to baptise by inunersion anyone who had been sprinkled in infancy and wiho now considered that baptism 'invalid. Infant baptism was not valid to Mr. Murray, but he believed it was valid to those wiio believed in it.
