TAKAPAU
An enthusiastic meeting of the Tennis Club was hold in the-' library last week. Mr. C. H. St. Hill was again elected president of the club, and the following were elected vice-presidents for the season: Messrs. 6. S. White. W. Cuthberteon, H. N. Waldin, A. Cameron, A. S. Aldrich. B. A. Fraser, W. Ellingharn, W. G. Morton, J. W. Cftto, J. J3. A'Deane. Mr. .T. W. C'ato was elected captain and Mr. Len. Ashworth secretary and treasurer. A strong committeo was formed, and by the amount of interest shown by all members tho' season promises to be a very successful one fo'r tennis. It is tho intention of the club to put down one of the courts-in asphalt this season, and It is hoped that the work will bs started at once. Tho grass courts are receiving attention, and will be in good order for the opening day on October 2D.. A**' Clay Pigeon Gun Club has been started here, and the first "shoot" took place on Wednesday, Mr. G. May being tho most successful 6hot for the day. Another shoot will be held at an early date. Mr. G. Paton.-.tho secretary is leaving no stone unturned to make tne club a great suocess.
