THE SISTERS OF COMPASSION
Sir, —Last November we were visited by a fearful scourge-a largo number of peoplo were stricken and dependent on tlio devoted nursing and attention of many bravo women and men. Amongst tlm "former tlio Sisters of. Compassion took a prominent part. As an oyo-wit-ness of their work at St. Patricks College emergency hospital, and one who was privileged to lie attended by them I should like to draw the attention ot tlio public to the fact that on Wednesday afternoon next, 15th inst., the annual nursery tea takes plnco at tlio Homo of Compassion. Island .Bay, to which the sisters cordially invito all. I have many times heard people say the SisteT9 deserved some recognition of their devoted and untiring efforts during that dreadful period (during which many of them were sorely stricken whilst on their errands of mercy). To nrovi'de for the little ones is their life's work, and gratitude cannot bo better shown than by taking or sending gifts of clothingprovisions or money, 011 Wednesday— thereby testifying in a practical manner appreciation of tho self-sacrificing work of this noble band of women.—l am etc., ADA WHEELER.
