KARQRI DEFENCE CLUB. The Karori Defence Rifle Club fired a teams matoh 011 the Trenthnm rifle range on Saturday afternoon for tho opening of the shooting season. There was a good attendance of members present, and as the weather was ideal for shooting a very enjoyable afternoon was sjient. The result of tho match was a win for the Deputy-President's Team by- 80 points, tho 6cores being: President's Team 530, and Deputy-President's Team 610. Tho Suburbs Club opened its season on Saturday at Trentham, tho ranges being 300 and 500 yards, ten shots at the former and soven at tho latter range. Tlio trophy for tho shoot was presented by Mr. J. G. Newton. The targets used throughout were tho 300 yards figure, target, which, together with tho failing light, accounted for tho poor scores Jjut up by somo of the marksmen. Tho following are the scores:—!?.
