. MEMORIAL AT BKOOKLTN. Permission lias been granted a committee of Brooklyn residents to erect a memorial to the memory of the Brooklyn lads who made the supreme sacrifice in the great wit. The inemorial will take the shapa of an obelisk placed on a square bass, with six 6teps leading np to it. Sound the four sides of the base marble slabs will bo let in, and on these the names of the fallen will be inscribed. The whole will be twentyeight feet high and eighteen foot squaru at the bottom, when finished, and built on t.he peak of Sugar Loaf Hill, will- be visible from all parts of the city, and from Petona 011 n. clear day.
