.A poor field contested the Hack Welter Handicap, but they .wero nn even lot. Uiral Queen, on. the minimum had L. ; .. Glentour led the - favourite till well into the straight; where the bottom weight came along and won nicely. Railand .was 'a fair third, and then came Maymorn and. Some Girl. The winner is a good stayer and she was also at . home in the going. .: . ~ Thero '.was a big. field- in the Scurry . and they gave the starter a-lot of trouble. ■•• Demadee, Ha'eremoana, and Maenree, in particular,.were troublesome. . Sweet Tipperary made, most of the running; ,I)ut before the straight was entered, Olynthus had taken charge, 1 and-in a good finish he", beat Moutoa Iyanova by a baro length, with Kilrush third, and the favourite next. The lastnamed hung badly on the turns, and lost a lot of ground. Kilrush was on tho big side, and will do better next time out. -Moutoh, Ivanova appeared to be a trifle unlucky in tho running. Only four:horses saddled.iip for the 1 Levin Hack Handicap, and Beloved was a better favourite than Printemps. The former wne in front to the straight entrance, -where Printemps took charge, but he had to bo ridden right out to beat Maroh' On by a length. .Utnwai was third, and ,the favourite' next.
