An instructive paper on the "Natural has Resources of New Zealand" was delivered bv Mr. W. Donovan, who quoted tie expenenco of other countries to show that natural gas, if found in good quantities, would provo a valuable asset to the Dominion. .Mr. G. L. Adkin gavo a comprehensive treatise on "Examples of Readjustment of Drainage on the Tararua West-' ern Foothills." Both papers gave rise to an, interesting discussion, in the coruso of which th* opinion was expressed that the Hauralu Plains would be well worth prospecting for natural gas. Messrs. Donoyan and Adkin woro heartily thanked inr their valuablo contributions to tho society's records.
