It was a significant fact that in non-Cliristian countries, paper money and* a man's word in business were un. heard of, which went to prove that tlio teaching of Christ had a marked effect on commer«ial honesty and morality. Mr, Hay gavo some of his experiences in Franco during the war period and iemnrkod that although nearly five years of war had upset many, ideas and calculations, etc., tho Christian religion had come through the furnace unscathed und stronger than ever.
