NEW YORK TO SAN FRANCISCO. New York, October 7. Sixty aeroplanes are about to start on a trans-continental flight to_ San Francisco, and forty machines will fly from San Francisco to New York at the same time. Tho contest is limited to military airmen, and is for the purpose of tostiiiß the reliability of tho machines.
