Herr Bauer deplored the world-wide propaganda which was seeking' to disprove the Germnii people's changed mind, and their genuine desire for peace. THE LEIPZIG FAIR. (Eec. October 8, 9.30 p.m.) Berlin, October S. The Leipzig fair has concluded. The exhibitors ojpre-sed the hope that they nould recover their export trade through American and neutral buying. They considered that British hostility would be prolonged. Nearly sill German in dustries are now on the verge of bankruptcy, due chielly to the shortage of coal and also to the loss of the export trade and the inability to purchase foreign raw materials. The manufacturers wero concentrating on new mechanical devices and novelties, with which they hoped to force a wedge into the foreign markets. Much specialised new machinery was exhibited.—Aus.-N.Z.
