MIRAMAR BOROUGH
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. A meeting of tho Mirnmar Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor (Mr. S. Stone) presided, and-there wero present:—Councillors J. Hicks, E. Collie, H. K. Kobertshaw, E.'J. Baniett, and Mrs. M'Vicar. Tho Eastbourne Borough Council.w-roie nsking for support for a resolution pas3ad by that council with respect to the Definition of Time Bill introduced into Parliament by Mr. Sidey, M.P. Tho. Eastbourno Borough desired to see the Bill placed on.the Statute Boole this session. The Miramar Council decided to accord its support. 1 A letter was received from the Waihi Borough Council, in which support was requested for a resolution urging the (lovernment. to prohibit the export of timber until the local market had been supplied. The council decided to take no action. It was decided to demand a deposit of 20s. from those requiring the use of Reatoun Park for picnic purposes.- Half of the amount will be refunded if ,no damage is done to the Park.
