CANTERBURY PRODUCE MARKET
Mi Teleiranh—Pro«» Anociatlon. Christchurch, October 7. There is little change -in the local grain markets. Most ■"millers seem anxious to increase their holdings, but offerings of wheat are very scarce. There is a moderate inquhy for gocu oats, and the price for bright chaff has hardened up to £6 per ton. The potato position remains extremely undecideo. Merchants are not particularly keen to do business, but up to ,£8 10s. per ton has been offered and refused for really good lines of. table potatoes. On the other hand a few small sales are reported at ,£8 per ton, and it is quite evment that vendors' ideas are very varied.
