Present indications are for high and ' squally westerly winds, backing to southerly northward of New Plymouth and C-aatlepoint, and southerlies prevailing elsewhere. Weather unsettled, cloudy und misty generally,,with heavy showers in many ; partß of the country, and snow on tlio higher levels in the South Island. Barometer rise tem- ■ poraiily.
