■-A now method'for comhatins; influenza and pneumonia' was described by Dr. Charles' H.'Duncan in an address before 1 the'-convention of"the allied medical association :of America. Dr. Duncan described his process as: one of "immunising a patient to "his own poison:-" Upon 246 patients' ill with pneumonia and influenza during last Winter's epidemic, Dr. Duncan sc.id that he'had "used the treatment without a sinstle fatality or. aiiy complications-. "Briefly," tlis physician said. •"I take Idr. of ( mucus, from the infected area and pasteurise it in loz. of filtered water, where it- remains several hours.- One cubic centimetre of this toxin, injected subcutane•ously, will'effect a spontaneous cure of Spanish influenza, pneumonia, catarrh, or any similar localised infection.
